"My second time staying at the wonderful St. James Guesthouse. Returned back after 3 years, and it was even more wonderful than what I remembered. The owner along with all of the employees are absolutely lovely. You truly feel at home with a lovely family like atmosphere. The rooms are authentic and have exactly what you need. Enjoyed having Netflix on the TV along with Aircondition in the room. Breakfast was delicious with great additional options you pay a cheap price for. Location is the best in Roseau, next to a car rental, walkable distance to everything (Ferry terminal, Markets, Restaurants/bars, Local busses to Portsmouth or Trafalgar). Cannot recommend this place and the employees enough. One of the many gems in Dominica! Thanks to the team once again 🙏"

Very nice outdoor swimming pool and whole place in a gated secure compound. Basic continental breakfast that you help yourself to in the communal kitchen. Owners are lovely and very helpful. "The room and the whole atmosphere/service felt more like a classical hotel than a hostel, so the price was more than fair. The staff are extremely engaged in making their guests feel comfortable and they even organized fresh glutenfree bread for breakfast. The location is a little off in Zona 10, but everything needed is within reach by foot and/or taxi."

My room had a desk, which accommodated electric plugs, but there were none beside the bed. When the window was not open, the air got a little stuffy, presumably from the included bathroom.

"For self catering facilities it is peefect, quiet and have laundry and ao forth included which is reàlly nice... the agent is very reasonable and always there to answer any questions or any concerns... I highly recommend 👌"

If bed mats to be place on both side of the bed and infront the dresser ... but others the property is well equipped.

The homemade meal had a unique flavor I had never experienced before and made me feel healthy. "Simples e aconchegante, quarto tamanho médio, frigorífico em ótimas condições, jarra elétrica no quarto, há 6 chás 2 águas, a cama era confortável, macia, lençóis brancos, macio e pareciam bem limpos, toalhas brancas limpas e cheirosas, o quarto parecia limpo, TV em ótimo funcionamento, fácil acesso, fácil contato com administradores, 1km do centro mais ou menos. Casa de banho em bom estado, parecia limpo, com sabonete e tapete a água quente boa."

Fiquei a vontade e me sentindo em casa mesmo,a marli tbm prepara um café da manhã com muito carinho ,eu e meu esposo com certeza voltaremos em outras oportunidades."

Host is very friendly, joins for breakfast chat, and is a really wise and cool person, who is happy to talk tourist things, history, and life. Overall the place has 3 small rooms, with a huge shared central room, so it must be fun for friend groups. Amenities, location, and basics are fine. Furniture is amazing and well kept antics. Breakfast is basic but local and fresh. I traveled for business, but will come back with family. :)"

"Location was amazing, the food you can have at the izakaya was amazing. They could speak english and one of the person working there translated the whole menu for us. They have a great system in place for the shared showers so don’t be worried about that. Hateruma is a gorgeous place to explore, highly recommend! Also booking system was super easy."

Not much space in the room to move around, the on suite bathroom was a bit uncomfortable (really just a lil plastic box in the room, kinda see thru and if you wanna take a shower, everything gets wet and the room gets humid) so we opted for the shared bathroom in the hallway. The fan in the shared kitchen didn't work and there aren't many plates/bowls etc.

"Accommodations are simple but very comfortable. Nice swimming pool right out the hotel room door. Short walk to the water. We really enjoyed diving. My 18yr old son got PADI certified. They did an awesome job with him. Nassar was his instructor. He was awesome! Area was very safe."

No complaints. Please understand that tourism is severely impacted by the Gazan war. Many hotels and restaurants are closed and those that are open often are operating in a limited capacity. For example hotel restaurants might not operate at all. This affects all hotels. There were almost no tourists as of November 2025.
