Maison Aubergerac

"Great location within easy walking distance to the centre of Bergerac. Lovely room, a welcoming bottle of wine and fresh peaches picked from their own tree, lovely swimming pool with deck chairs and fabulous hosts. Sandra and Carsten couldn’t do enough for us and made our stay excellent even providing us with bicycles to explore the area."

"A lovely place to stay, with friendly, welcoming and very helpful hosts. Walking distance from the town centre. A comfortable bed, great bathroom and good air con. Wish we could have stayed longer."

"Sandra and Carsten have created a haven of peace and tranquility. They are the warmest and kindest of hosts providing delicious breakfasts on the terrace with gorgeous home made jams and a wide variety of pastries and dishes for all tastes. They also provided us with bikes which we used every day to cycle into Bergerac and to go swimming in the local lake which was divine. We had a spacious room and bathroom overlooking the extensive gardens where we relaxed under the shade of the trees. Our hosts were attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them. Our experience of MaisonAubergerac was way beyond our expectations and we’d love to return."

"Set in park-like grounds, the restored and extended building was ‘of the region’, well appointed and with a sense of style. The hosts were friendly, knowledgeable, helpful but not intrusive. Breakfasts were excellent and the cafe au lait the best we have had in France."

"As we didn’t have our own transport, the brisk 25-30min walk to the heart of the old city would not be pleasant in the height of summer. Bikes were offered, however."

"Location was great for a peaceful getaway. Close enough to Bergerac centre to cycle in, or a very short drive. Sandra and Carsten were very attentive when needed and went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible, also recommending places to visit and restaurants/shops. The breakfasts were plentiful with lots of choices on offer. Our room had a small outside space to unwind with a glass or two from the bottle of wine to welcome us after a day exploring Bergerac. The indoor pool was a lovely treat with towels provided. We very much appreciated the tranquility of the place and the caring hospitality of our hosts."

"From the very start the hosts were so helpful. The property sits behind electric gates that open with a code they give you. Large garden with an area left wild for butterflies and insects etc, but away from the house in case that’s not your thing. The room was very spacious, bathroom too, with a modern shower. Everything was very clean, water and wine were left out for us and and there was coffee and tea facilities Breakfast was huge, and varied. I borrowed the bikes provided and a short cycle to a gorgeous park ( photos are of that ) with swimming lake, very nearby, and then into Bergerac itself with its old town and loads of restaurants and bars. There is an indoor pool too with towels provided, which I enjoyed, loved my stay there and was sorry to leave."

"Nothing, (just remember that there is a spiral staircase to the two bedrooms on first floor, so if you can’t do stairs make sure to ask for the downstairs room. ) I’m fine with stairs so that wasn’t a problem at all from my perspective."

"Sandra, Carsten and Pluto were wonderful hosts, just the best! We rarely visit the same place twice but we will definitely make an exception , we will travel to Bergerac just to stay at Maison Aubergerac again!"
