The owners were VERY helpful and organised a place for us to store our two SUP boards by the beach. We didn't have to move or pump them up every day. THANKS On-site parking. Some notes rather than criticism for owners: It would be better if there had been a different way to get in touch. To activate the Cook Islands SIM we bought in advance we need to be able to get onto the internet. So we couldn’t contact them to get the code & my phone wouldn’t connect to international roaming. If we’d been given the code the day earlier then it would have saved the stress. Also there was no information book, so once we got inside, getting the Wi-Fi code, so we could contact the owner easily, was really difficult (& expensive with international roaming).

- Confusing check in. Drove all the way down to then have to drive all the way back up again? - Got told on check in that they have a fair use electric policy. I asked for further info about how much usage that meant and how much I would have to pay extra but the staff could not clarify, only that we should use aircon max of 12 hrs a day. We are sensible with electric, but still made me wonder if we had to pay at end of stay. (We didn’t have to luckily) - Could not turn off outside lights and it bothered me as the room wasn’t very dark because of that. (Also thought they were concerned about electric usage??) I asked the question but never got a reply from them… I would recommend improving these points, but we still had an amazing stay!!

"The location is fantastic to explore the northern parts of the island. The view was spectacular and the hosts are really tentative and friendly. The cottages are good equipped and had everything we needed."

"Amazing place- very special. Large accommodation. Loved having ac in the bedrooms. Well equipped. Lots of wildlife in the garden, we woke one morning to a whole troupe of howler monkeys in the tree above our house and we were able to sit in the lookout area and watch them. Great location - very close to beach and cafes. Owner responsive and helpful."

Kitchen equipment could do with a bit of a refresh - eg chopping boards. And it's more expensive than anywhere else we stayed - but it was totally worth it, we loved it.

"We had a great time in the cottage, the house was super cosy and equipped with anything we needed. Also enjoyed the hot tub. When you stay in Hestasport Cottages, don't miss to do a horse riding tour, this was a fantastic experience."

"The location is handy to town if you do not have a car it is a quick 5 minute walk to the main centre. It had all the necessities for our stay. We loved the deck and how quiet it was. The rooms were comfortable and having mesh windows reduced the mozzie bites. The images of the property are exactly what we you get when you hire this beautiful place."

Would have been great to have air con in the back room but the heat was manageable.

From the outside, the place looked simple, but the room itself was actually nicer and better equipped than the Sheraton in Brussels or the King Fajd Palace in Dakar which I had stayed in en route."

The street was a block in from the main road which was quiet and nice in the daytime but too dark to walk at night alone as a single lady.

"The location was fantastic! Right on the beach and walkable bars and restaurants. The grounds were perfectly kept and the staff were amazing! Would definitely go back!"

I liked everything about it but if I could add one thing A/C in the top bedroom would be nice! There were fans though!

Some issues with power on first day then on-going with water & wifi connection - apart from this, it was a good 5 days.

"The location is beautiful as there is a view on both the mountains and the sea. It is not walking distance to Jiufen which is a good thing because it's too busy there and I rather drive a few minutes for a visit and then back to some peace and quiet. The couple that owns and runs the hotel are very nice and helpful. We loved the traditional Chinese breakfast sitting outside the hotel looking at this amazing view"

"Lovely, comfortable, big appartment and view over Texel Airfield / Skydive Drop-Zone. We chose it as our son skydives and we had family doing tandems. Its a good base for the whole island and an interesting place to be but if you want to walk to restaurants in the evening better to be in De Koog or Den Burg. For our purpose it was great. Our skydiver even managed to get a early jump in before the Texel Half Marathon he was running! The price is right for the quality of appartment but Texel is generally dear."

There was a window open in the bathroom which we had not spotted and the appartment was full of mosquitos which was odd given we are end of September. The freezer door was jammed with ice.

"We had a wonderful week at Les Gites de Robinson. Communication with Carole had been excellent in the weeks prior to our holiday and when we did arrive she was so helpful and made us feel very welcome. The gite is spacious and spotlessly clean and the kitchen has all that is needed to prepare meals. The beds are very comfortable, the showers in both the modern bathrooms are excellent and, although we did not make use of it, the swimming pool is in a lovely garden setting. The gite is conveniently located in a quiet residential area, only about 300m from a well-stocked supermarket and bakery. We would absolutely recommend staying here. Thank you for having us, Carole and Gilles!"

Small issues with maintenance in the house - awkward lock on patio, leak around bathroom tap

"Great location for seeing west side of island including Pitons and volcano. Lovely panoramic sea view from upper and lower balconies."

Not a didn’t like but consider one restaurant ‘Tet Rouge’ open a short walk away. Hire car a must for getting about.

Cockroaches, but it wasn't because of cleaning, but it is about the country and the garbage outside the houses

"Location in quiet area but still very close to the city center with many shops 24/7 nearby. Nice & comfy bedroom with AC and refrigerator- especially important in August :-). Additional benefit was the balcony, but the view was not spectacular. Breakfasts were very tasty and the view from dining room was very nice (8th floor)."

Just minor disadvantages: no power sockets available for charging in the bedroom, cash payment only. No hooks in the bathroom and towels I think shall be replaced after each 2-3 days.

"Better than in the pictures. Host are great. Very spacious both indoors and outdoors. Very dog friendly. Parking on the property. All great. Keep in mind to bring your own towels."
