The reception staff will gladly recommend activities, such as hiking in the Skaftafell National Park or Skalafellsjökull glacier. Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon is a 50-minute drive away.

"A mini fridge would have been a bonus. The door unlocks as soon as you turn the handle on the inside- not ideal for curious kids. A higher lock out of the reach of children or one that stays locked until intentionally unlocking would be better."
