"I had never been to an all inclusive resort before and was sceptical and personally probably will never do it again but nothing to do with the Bareclo, simply my preference but the resort was totally amazing considering the price. I had one of the bungalows which has large vey well decorated and very comfortable likewise the bathroom. Considering the size of the resort the WiFi was excellent . I never used the pool which was huge but instead the beach and swam several times The beach is stunning and spotlessly clean as to the gardens they are stunning and so well kept. The staff were so friendly and helpful especially so the ones in the dining room I have never seen such a volume of food being served ( and consumed !) in such vast qualities and the staff there in my view were so patient considering what they were dealing with! Overall I cannot fault the resort in any major way you get amazing value for money … congratulations to Barcelo"

The checking in process is very unwieldy on arrival I joined a queue of at least 50 people I got there in the early afternoon and they simply would not let anyone in to their room before 3 pm And surely some of rooms were really and why allow check ins as was available . This is not the first time I have come across this attitude The resort is large and at first it was difficult to find your bungalow as it’s not overly well signposted The was an entertainment lady around the pool screaming down a microphone … why is that necessary ? Overall it was a great stay Well done Barcelo

"The view from our room, any room in fact, looked out over the crashing waves that rolled in from the Indian Ocean. Biggest room weve had in Bali.The staff were ready to look after our every whim. They brought meals in from outside restaurants. Instead of 2 tiny water bottles per day they provided a 20 litre water dispenser. The pool overlooked the black pebbly beach. The surrounding area was not overwhelmed by tourists and the locals were 1980's friendly."

Organised tours available for guests from tourist agencies, for self organised guests rent-a-car is the only option for sightseeing. Some facilities require better maintenance.

"Liostasi has absolutely made our honeymoon the most magical and comfortable experience. The rooms, the pool, the bar, the view, the spa, the food- all of it is fantastisc. The breakfast is one of the very best I have seen at a hotel. The restaurant is also one of the best/fanciest on Ios. The hotel is close to the port and the other restaurants and bars in Chora. They can also help with car rental so you can explore the island. But the real secret to Liostasi's success is the staff. The staff is wonderfully kind and caring, and willing to help with everything. The staff is the real gem of Liostasi if you ask me. So, if you have the opportunity to travel to Ios and stay at this hotel, do it!!!!!! You will not be disappointed!! Absolute must visit destination and hotel!"

You use the resort shuttle to get around, but it’s easy and well organised. All-inclusive was genuinely excellent, especially the cocktails. We tried two restaurants and the steak restaurant (The Deck) was a standout. Staff were exceptional: warm, relaxed and genuinely helpful. They also did a thoughtful birthday touch which felt personal. A small but adorable detail: they have cute little sunbeds for kids on the beach."

Not a dislike, but good to know - because it’s built on a hill, you’ll use the resort shuttle frequently, but it’s part of what creates the privacy and views.

Kõik oli läbimõeldud, viisakas, meile tutvustati tuba, suunati privaatsesse checkini, sest kuulusime imperial clubi ja saime nautida kella 17-19 vahel ka avatud baari ja snäkke. Jõudsime hotelli varem ja saime toa kohe kätte. Lastele meeldis veepark ja veetsime seal terve päeva. Hommikusöök oli väga maitsev ja rikkalik. Kui õhtul tuppa saabusime, olid isegi kardinad ette tõmmatud ja voodid tehtud. Toas oli olemas kõik vajalik - pehmed sussid, rannakott, joogivesi, hambaharjad ja muud hügieenitarbed. Hotell ise oli nagu kunstiteos, kaubanduskeskus, veepark, akvaarium koos. Seal oli kõik olemas, mida üldse tahta võis. Suurepärane elamus ja ainult positiivsed mälestused. Aitäh!"

"Tongan Beach resort is very isolated and great if you don't want to be found. The team there are fabulous, and the food is first class"

The Resort is very isolated, and expensive to go anywhere. You are actually quite captive. Off season is not the time to go here. There are very few options for activities outside the resort. Apart from an island tour which is well worth doing, you are really confined to barracks, book reading (no TVs) and waiting for sunset drinks. Yes, there is some good snorkelling, swimming and kayaking, but that's it. No TV's or DVD library, no games as such. So, it's an awfully long way to go, and very expensive for just this. Unless of course that's what you're looking for.

"I thought the meals were good overall and the locations (I.e. grill, restaurant) very convenient. The staff at Divi were very professional, friendly, helpful, and accommodating. My family felt welcomed throughout our stay and really enjoyed our time at the resort."

We would have preferred for our rooms to be closer together however we appreciate that the hotel was able to accommodate our additional request to have the rooms on the first floor in order to accommodate my elderly mom.

Rooms a bit small, 2 small elevators for all the people take some time. There is an huge amount of food but i for exampme dont eat meat, there is 10 diferent meat plates and only 1 fish option.

Couldn’t find any ramp which could be wheel chair friendly. A ramp could be introduced for ease of moving luggage’s and for elderly people.

"The hotel is very clean and the staff are extremely polite. They made us feel very welcome. The facilities of the indoor pool and spa are very clean and well kept. The gym is a plus - very clean and well equipped with a nice view, and it it is open 24/7. The room was very clean. We were given an upgrade, which we appreciated immensely. We ate at The Essence of India which is one of the restaurants at the hotel, and it was to die for. A must when visiting Malta! Overall, a lovely weekend stay, nice and relaxing."

The gym itself is well equipped and clean but can only be reached from the outside. We were there in winter and it was very windy to reach it. So make sure to get a jacket. For the ladies, make sure to have a shower cap on hand as unfortunately our room had a fixed hanging shower faucet which was not ideal but doable. The breakfast is by set time seating, so make sure to plan your stay and book accordingly. When it came to the breakfast food although very good in taste and quality, it was not as vast as I would have expected - especially the desserts. I am a chocolate lover, and there was only one chocolate sponge cake and one choc-au-pain. I am a nutella lover and would have loved a nutella croissant or something along that sort of dessert for breakfast. I however emphasise on how polite and helpful the staff are!

It was just big enough and always seemed to be at the right temperature. We were delighted by fireflies, tree frogs, bats, local birds, and even a shy ginger cat that wandered past once or twice."

THE ROAD- while we expected a rough access road from reading previous reviews, the construction during our stay detoured us through the banana plantation over an intolerably (for anyone with neck/back problems) rough track that was 4x longer. While the ocean (not a swimming beach) is close enough to hear, there is not much view. It is a peek from one corner of the pool deck, and the upper bedroom. But again, wonderful privacy. Also of note- there are no bug screens on the windows. It was perhaps an assumption on our part with the newer construction, but the mosquitoes did cause some distress, especially for one member of our group. Bring bug spray, After-Bite (anti-itch), and Benadryl if you are prone to reactions.

"This is my fourth visit . It’s a perfect place to relax and enjoy the sunshine. I found the food at the all inclusive restaurants. The staff were very helpful. The gardens looked beautiful . I found a sun bed at the beach each day with no problem. The WiFi worked well around the resort."

"The breakfast was good and well balanced. The place has very beautiful villas. I like the privacy that the place provided. Great views. Great scenery Staff are very kind and professional. Despite the well balanced breakfast, I ate the same breakfast for the entire period of my stay. This was predictable and monotonous . The breakfast was standard, meaning that I had no choice in terms of portion, variety and pricing. I expected to find cooking pots and utensils in the kitchen to allow me the option of cooking and preparing anything . I wish the hotel provided information on places to be visited within the vicinity and information regarding the most recent COP29

"The hotel is great and in an amazing location which is right inside the airport. Staff were polite and amazing, great buffet breakfast, there is mini zoo which had wildlife such as monkeys, crocodile, tortoise, parrot, ostriches, peacocks etc. The rooms and facilities was great and it was a great stay. They provided free shuttle to the airport which is a bonus."

The pool could do with a bit of cleaning.

- food wasn't cheap, menu was limited - beach in front of hotel was dirty and birdpoop - no possibility to board a (rented) jetski in front of the hotel - no guarded parking for the cars - 5 minutes walk and no vallet possible - breakfast buffet seems big but not that much variety day over day - it's always the same it seems

"The location is right in the heart of Georgetown, within walking distance of all the major tourist attractions. The accommodation is beautifully designed,easily the best I’ve seen in Penang. The staff were incredibly friendly and always made sure we were well taken care of."

If I were to nitpick, the dinner menu could be a bit more interesting. Other than that, everything was great.
