"Liostasi has absolutely made our honeymoon the most magical and comfortable experience. The rooms, the pool, the bar, the view, the spa, the food- all of it is fantastisc. The breakfast is one of the very best I have seen at a hotel. The restaurant is also one of the best/fanciest on Ios. The hotel is close to the port and the other restaurants and bars in Chora. They can also help with car rental so you can explore the island. But the real secret to Liostasi's success is the staff. The staff is wonderfully kind and caring, and willing to help with everything. The staff is the real gem of Liostasi if you ask me. So, if you have the opportunity to travel to Ios and stay at this hotel, do it!!!!!! You will not be disappointed!! Absolute must visit destination and hotel!"

"Magic Reef is a beautiful resort, very relaxing. The bungalows are well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. It was also great to have our own comfortable lounge chairs on the deck to take in the views out over the reef, watching the waves crashing and the sun setting which was all simply breathtaking. There are a few really good restaurants within walking distance down the beach, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing time. We hired a car for a couple of days to explore around the island, enjoy some beach swimming, snorkeling and to eat at some different restaurants. The pool was great, lovely temperature and depth. Our hosts and all the staff were friendly, helpful and we enjoyed talking with them. Thanks for the beautiful platter in the fridge, the beers, juice etc which was so appreciated. We would highly recommend Magic Reef if you like a small boutique resort."

Le prix reste un peu cher pour le Myanmar dans le contexte politique actuel même si il se comprend. Le confort du lit, matelas, était mauvais. Les coupures d'électricité durant tout un après-midi sont aussi à prendre en compte. Enfin les matelas et les serviettes autour de la piscine semblent une option.

It was not easy to get service on the tables near the beach. The sun beds did not have cushions so were uncomfortable to lay on.

I couldn't control the temperature of the room. I think the AC wasn't working properly I was a bit hot while sleeping even though the AC was on 16 degrees. Probably because the heaters were on.

Only couple of persons spoke english. Several restaurants in hotel, but you could only book online with one. When you come to hotel everything is in spanish, luckily I had colleague who could speak spanish so he was able to translate how to book breakfast, lunches and dinners etc.

"Great, easily accessible hotel with multinational guests. The little private beach is beautiful with snorkelling just steps into the water. A few great restaurants walking distance. Our room was large and equipped with everything we needed and well serviced each day. The included breakfast was good with different options each day. The front desk was helpful especially Jaimie with organising tours, excursions and hire cars."

There was a great beach bar over the water that wasn’t open when we visited which would have been a great place to hang out.

"Great snorkelling around the over water bungalows, lots of turtles feeding on the seagrass. Beautiful location, so relaxing. Beach access bungalows are very nice, newly renovated, comfy bed. Pool was awesome. Appreciated the sea bird conservation in the island. I actually loved the sounds of the Puffin de Pacifique birds at night - I thought it was a child crying at first lol… bungalows have earplugs, luckily! Complimentary buffet breakfast was good. Got a generous late check out, service was really good from the boat to the front desk to the restaurant and bar. Everyone speaks a very high level of English, not sure where the negative comments about staff come from - they were the best I experienced in NC by far."

It’s an expensive buffet dinner (around $80aud) but the choices were really good, esp the fresh seafood and all the desserts. It’s just not worth it if you don’t eat huge dinners. Order à la carte options instead, but nice to try the buffet just once. Consider BYO noodles and alcohol if you want to save money, buying food and drinks from the restaurant and bar adds up quick. Would have been good to be able to lock/unlock the back beach access door from outside with a key.

The room view is absolutely spectacular, making it hard to even leave the balcony, and the room itself is kept spotlessly clean and neat. I really appreciated the thoughtful room accessories and how easy it was to get from the room directly to the restaurant without any hassle. The breakfast was incredibly delicious and fresh, providing the perfect start to the day. What truly made the stay, though, was the lovely staff—they are so polite, welcoming, and genuine that you feel right at home. The resort is not in walking distance to San Ignacio. You need a car (and worse a parking spot) to go there. This makes you dependent on the hotel‘s facilities and restaurant. Be aware that the breakfast included only means a small selection of breakfast choices. Whenever you want something extra eg eggs you pay extra! You pay a 10% „service charge“ on everything, even on the organization of tours, which is quite a ripoff. I did some activities organized by the hotel. These tours (especially the mayan cooking class) are real good, however as a single I had to pay for two people (minus a small discount). Moreover, tax & „service charge“ were added to the net prices mentioned in the flyer. Taken together this makes these tours unacceptably expensive.

Couldn’t find any ramp which could be wheel chair friendly. A ramp could be introduced for ease of moving luggage’s and for elderly people.

"The location is ideal for a first-time traveler to Kokopo it is right in the center of the city. Staff is friendly and helpful. The food is good, and the restaurant well located for a good view to the now quiet volcano in Rabaul and the Duke of York islands during the day."

"I had never been to an all inclusive resort before and was sceptical and personally probably will never do it again but nothing to do with the Bareclo, simply my preference but the resort was totally amazing considering the price. I had one of the bungalows which has large vey well decorated and very comfortable likewise the bathroom. Considering the size of the resort the WiFi was excellent . I never used the pool which was huge but instead the beach and swam several times The beach is stunning and spotlessly clean as to the gardens they are stunning and so well kept. The staff were so friendly and helpful especially so the ones in the dining room I have never seen such a volume of food being served ( and consumed !) in such vast qualities and the staff there in my view were so patient considering what they were dealing with! Overall I cannot fault the resort in any major way you get amazing value for money … congratulations to Barcelo"

The checking in process is very unwieldy on arrival I joined a queue of at least 50 people I got there in the early afternoon and they simply would not let anyone in to their room before 3 pm And surely some of rooms were really and why allow check ins as was available . This is not the first time I have come across this attitude The resort is large and at first it was difficult to find your bungalow as it’s not overly well signposted The was an entertainment lady around the pool screaming down a microphone … why is that necessary ? Overall it was a great stay Well done Barcelo

Our room was cold, Maintenance came to sort it out but he didn't really know much about the thermostat, said he sorted it and it won't take long to heat uo, but never did, wasn't ideal with a little baby, said baby was asleep by time we realised it wasn't heating up. A small blemish on what was otherwise a really nice stay.

A little bit noise from the outside in the early mornings and you always heard the ice machine used in the hallway. There was also renovation in one of the resraurants, which we did not know beforehand and there were thrilling at day time, which we heard in our room. Also a lot of other small maintain, like bug spraying in our room and men repairing aircon in front of our room in most of the days. We couldn’t eat breakfast in Tara wing because of the renovation, because they closed early every morning. Nobody told us that. A lot of bird poop everywhere and the birds in the breakfast area/tables in the beach restaurant.
