Actually, description was ambiguous: contrary to expectation, the toilet, bathroom and kitchen were shared (with the hosts and with the renter from the other room that is hired within the property), not private.

"We traveled on our bicycles and Highland lodge was the perfect stop between Afriski and Mokhontlong. Rooms were very large and so clean. Bed was very large and comfy. Staff was nice, friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend 👌🏼"

We would have enjoyed a desert after our dinner but it was not so important.

"To start with, the location is not only excellent (right in the middle of historical Viterbo, walking distance to most things), but you also have parking inside (and space for normal-sized cars too), which can be a life saver when travelling by car. Nice (and very clean) room, and for a very reasonable price (have been to city accommodations half as good for twice the price). Also provided disposable indoor slippers, which is instantly a +1. Lastly, can mention that the owner also has a nearby restaurant (c. 2min walk), called La Chimera, which I can strongly recommend. I do not normally give 10/10 unless very deserving, i.e. going above and beyond, but this place deserves it."

The host cannot speak much English, but make it up through effort and enthusiasm, so you will still understand in the end (with or without Google translate). Breakfast was ok, but almost only sweets, so some less sugary stuff as well could be good. Some of the toiletries just lasted, so not a big issue, but if providing more then would not have to ration. Can also be a bit difficult to find (more so since some streets are currently closed-off due to construction).

"We had a pleasant stay for our ski week. Ski slopes are very close and can be reached within minutes by foot. Our host was very kind and helpful in everything. The restaurant under the accomodation serves delicious food, perfect for after ski dinners. No noise can be heard above from restaurant. Rooms are very clean and well equipped, we had everything needed for our daily routine. We will probably return later on."

"Modern, clean, self contained with bedrooms having on-suite bathrooms which also provided convenience and privacy. minimalistic though everything you expect from a hotel accommodation/apartment we had , elements from the spa were also included dressing, gowns and slippers, beach towels. "Rose and the rest of the staff - they couldn’t do more to help and to make our stay the best! The place is in lovely old-style buildings with beautifully furnished rooms in a peaceful location. We loved the short cycle on complementary bikes to West Bay for the sunsets."
