The owners were VERY helpful and organised a place for us to store our two SUP boards by the beach. We didn't have to move or pump them up every day. THANKS On-site parking. The ground staff were also very helpful. The host, Danielle was very helpful for all the questions I had before the trip and she arranged a tour for us. The guide Mohamed was also very helpful and flexible to meet our needs every day and tried to make sure we were happy with the service!"

"Martin and Gabriela are the loveliest hosts you can find. A couple who retired from Bavaria to build their paradise here, they are warm, hospitable, helpful and friendly. And you’ll get to stay in a paradise indeed in your time there. Their breakfast are of home made jam, bread, preserved fruits. The eggs are all from free range chicken reared in their yards. And very good coffee too. You will get to know their lovely pet Rocky, a husky, and another smaller dog whose name I forgot. There’s also a cat Sisi. They will pick u up by car from your bus stop off . Depending on the circumstance they may even give you a tour of the local towns. The rooms are clean and comfortable. With free WiFi. All in all I couldn’t have found better place to stay and hosts! ☺️"

Access to private swimming pool (competition-length, which is great for serious swimmers), a pool-house equipped with grill, bar, tables, and games (ping pong and foosball), and a private playground for younger children. We ordered 1 meal that was excellent, served in-house by the hosts. The hosts live in a separate unit on the property and they were available whenever we had questions. One of the hosts used to be a competitive swimmer and she gave the children a swim lesson. A relaxing place if you want to get away from the bustle of downtown Tana."

Somewhat difficult to find if you're driving yourself, but that's no fault of the hosts and the isolation does make the property more peaceful. Besides, property access won't be a problem if you ask the hosts to organize transportation for you (either car or motorcycle). There was a water shortage due to a drought at the time of rental, but again that's no fault of the hosts. We just had to be careful about our water consumption and it all worked out just fine. Treat the hosts with respect and they will definitely return the favor (they surprised us with freshly baked bread on our last day!)

It is not walking distance to Jiufen which is a good thing because it's too busy there and I rather drive a few minutes for a visit and then back to some peace and quiet. The couple that owns and runs the hotel are very nice and helpful. We loved the traditional Chinese breakfast sitting outside the hotel looking at this amazing view"

"We had a wonderful week at Les Gites de Robinson. Communication with Carole had been excellent in the weeks prior to our holiday and when we did arrive she was so helpful and made us feel very welcome. The gite is spacious and spotlessly clean and the kitchen has all that is needed to prepare meals. The beds are very comfortable, the showers in both the modern bathrooms are excellent and, although we did not make use of it, the swimming pool is in a lovely garden setting. The gite is conveniently located in a quiet residential area, only about 300m from a well-stocked supermarket and bakery. We would absolutely recommend staying here. Thank you for having us, Carole and Gilles!"

The shower had a heater problem, there was no shampoo or soap in the lower washrooms, and the TV didn't work. However, none of these issues affected our stay.

- Confusing check in. Drove all the way down to then have to drive all the way back up again? - Got told on check in that they have a fair use electric policy. I asked for further info about how much usage that meant and how much I would have to pay extra but the staff could not clarify, only that we should use aircon max of 12 hrs a day. We are sensible with electric, but still made me wonder if we had to pay at end of stay. (We didn’t have to luckily) - Could not turn off outside lights and it bothered me as the room wasn’t very dark because of that. (Also thought they were concerned about electric usage??) I asked the question but never got a reply from them… I would recommend improving these points, but we still had an amazing stay!!

"Location in quiet area but still very close to the city center with many shops 24/7 nearby. Nice & comfy bedroom with AC and refrigerator- especially important in August :-). Additional benefit was the balcony, but the view was not spectacular. Breakfasts were very tasty and the view from dining room was very nice (8th floor)."

Just minor disadvantages: no power sockets available for charging in the bedroom, cash payment only. No hooks in the bathroom and towels I think shall be replaced after each 2-3 days.

I was a bit concerned about previous reviews about lack of heating and hot water but the place was warm and we didn’t need the heaters provided, shower water was hot which we needed for the long treks in the surrounding mountains. "The host Greg answered all of our questions and was always available for help! The bedrooms are fair sized and all with bathrooms which is fantastic. The house has many great amenities."

Communal seating arrangements could be better / cosier, as well as outside space would be amazing with a terrace! Sauna had limited hours that we can't control, but is what is!
